BASIC ELIGIBILITY 1. The Chair / Coordinator-Researcher will be a Pakistani National Scholar who will not exceed 55 years of age on the date of application for the NJSC "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University" and will have the rank of Associate Professor or above. 2. The Chair / Coordinator-Researcher will have a PhD degree in Urdu language / Literature / Pakistan Studies / History, Political Science / International Relations / International Trade or Development Economics, duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. 3. The Chair / Coordinator-Researcher will be proficient in the English language. JOB DESCRIPTION 1. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will pursue the objectives outlined in the MOU. 2. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will impart knowledge of Pakistan's history, culture, people, national and regional languages, eminent literary figures, national heroes, geography, and the regional economic and political environment for a minimum number of hours and days per week, as per the requirements of Ankara University. 3. The Chair / Coordinator-Researcher will devote special time to teaching Urdu, Pakistan studies, literature and Pakistani culture. 4. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will interact with the academic community of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a view to positively contributing to relations between Pakistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan. 5. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will attend academic forums in the Republic of Kazakhstan on relevant issues. 6. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will organize long and short-term courses aligned with the objectives of the MOU. 7. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will extend maximum cooperation to scholars from the Republic of Kazakhstan undertaking research on any aspect of Pakistan. 8. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will endeavor to bring together outstanding Pakistani and the Republic of Kazakhstan scholars, intellectuals, and eminent persons of letters and the Arts to carry out research on Pakistan and/or the Republic of Kazakhstan. 9. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will organize and conduct conferences, seminars, symposium, workshops, and Art exhibitions on Pakistan, as well as Film and food festivals showcasing Pakistan's culture. 10. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and information for the mutual benefit of Pakistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan. 11. The Chair/Coordinator-Researcher will organize as well as participate in the functions on Pakistan's various days of importance, and 12. The Chair / Coordinator-Researcher will establish Pakistan's literacy and/or cultural corners in the library of the host universities. PERKS AND PRIVILEGES 1. The Government of Pakistan would administer funds provided annually by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training for the disbursement of pay, house rent, and allowances (e.g., foreign allowance) for the Chair/Coordinator-Researcher, as well as for activities under the Chair/Conduct of research. 2. Arrangement for issuing of appropriate multiple-entry visas to the fellowship holder and his family members under the appropriate laws of the Government of Republic of Kazakhstan would be the responsibility of the NJSC "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University". 3. The air passage and transportation charges for the scholar and their family members from Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan and back would be borne by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in accordance with the approved rules of the state. 4. Other perks and privileges as admissible by the Rules. TERMS AND CONDITIONS The tenure of the appointment will initially be for a period of three (3) years on a deputation or contract basis, extendable, with the mutual consent of the parties, for a maximum of two years on an annual basis.
