Job Description

• Minimum 10 years post-qualification experience in taxation, preferably dealing in areas of salary income, capital gain, property income, etc. • Experience gained in private practice, industry, reputed CA firms, or government Job Description (JDs): • Assisting the director in the work related to tax treaty negotiations and input to international bodies regarding international cooperation on tax matters. • Suggesting ways to tax international E-commerce. • Impact analysis in the case of adoption of pillar I and Pillar II. • Assessing the effectiveness of transfer pricing framework • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of existing tax laws, draft proposed amendments and legal notes for Director-level review. • Analyzing the budgetary proposals received from various stakeholders, • Review of tax incentives and exemptions for their legal necessity or economic rationality. • Help in overall tax expenditure analysis. • Cost Benefit analysis of suggested tax changes. • Analyzing the judicial pronouncements for tax policy inputs. • Any other task assigned by the Director General and Directors. Educational Qualification: • CA, CFA, CMA, ACCA, LLB or equivalent foreign qualification. or BS (Four-year Program)/M. Com in auditing/ accounting & Taxation from recognized University • Good knowledge of Pakistani tax laws particularly of non-corporate tax filings. • Excellent research skills in taxation. • Data Analytical Skills, Financial Analysis, including Advanced Excel skills, Power BI or similar visualization tools. • Good drafting — ability to prepare concise technical notes for policymakers. • Excellent Power point presentation skills • Strong interpersonal skills. • Attention to details and ability to work under tight legislative deadlines (especially during budget cycles). • Strong critical thinking to analyze complex situations, identify key issues and evaluate potential solution. • Ability to understand and synthesize complex data, ask pertinent questions, and effectively communicate findings into clear, actionable insights for policy decision making.
